Command Line Interface

Through command line interface, Compare++ can easily integrate with other products such as version control system. The format is

For comparing file,

Compare++.exe "file path name1" "file path name2"

For comparing folder,

Compare++.exe "folder path name1" "folder path name2"

Integration with TortoiseSVN

Open External Programs > Diff Viewer tab in the Setting dialog and then input the full path name of Compare++ in External;

Integration with TortoiseCVS

Through command line interface, Compare++ can easily integrate with other products such as version control system. Take TortoiseCVS for instance,

1. Right-click on the desktop;

2. Select and Click CVS > Preferences... in the context menu;

3. Open Tools tab in the Preferences dialog;

4. Input the full path name of Compare++ in Diff Application;

5. Click OK;

After the setting is finished, Compare++ will be automatically called when you diff files in TortoiseCVS.

Integration with SourceOffSite

In Tools > Options > External Programs, input the full path name of Compare++ in Application for comparing file, Application for comparing directories and Application for merging files.
